A follow up to ‘Tropical Experience,’ this new book reveals the interplay between nature and craft and the firm’s pursuit of timeless architecture. Each project is presented through spectacular photography and is accompanied by essays from Mark de Reus and noted architectural writer Joseph Giovannini which explore the origins of the work and how spirit of place contributes to the firm’s design thinking.
Mark de Reus is the founding design partner of de Reus Architects. Renowned for his award-winning resorts and residences, he has practiced for more than forty-five years.
Joseph Giovannini is a practicing architect who has written on architecture and design for three decades for such publications as the ‘New York Times,’ ‘Architectural Record,’ ‘Art in America,’ and ‘Art Forum,’ and he has served as the architecture critic for ‘New York Magazine’ and the ‘Los Angeles Herald Examiner’.
